Denn das Leben

ist ein Sterben,

und es endet

mit dem Tod -

und dann freu'n sich

all die Erben,

denen bald das

gleiche droht ...

For all life is

just a dying,

and it ends with

certain death -

and for joy all

heirs are crying,

threatened by their

own last breath…

Denn der Raum stellt

niemals Fragen,

weil die Zeit sich

selber frisst -

und so musst du

es ertragen,

dass dein Zeitraum

sinnlos ist ...

Space asks never

questions, sure! It-

self will time eat

up, and hence -

you will have to

just endure it,

all your timescale

has no sense...

Denn das Glück gibt's

nur auf Raten,

von den Zinsen

rasch ergraut -

bis der Steinmetz

unsre Daten

auf den kalten

Marmor haut ...

Denn die Hoffnung

ist das Leben,

und Verzweiflung

ist der Tod -

und so musst du

weiterstreben,

Und der Haifisch

schmiedet Pläne,

und er fordert

dich heraus -

der Gesellschaft

wissen nichts vom

Alle Sehnsucht

nach dem Leben

Das Gesunde

wird marode,

Nach der Liebe

kommt das Leiden,

und der Zwietracht

folgt der Zorn -

doch selbst Ehen

kann man scheiden,

und dann läuft das

Freunde kommen,

Glaubst zu schieben,

Die Enttäuschung

überpinseln,

doch die Freude

Disappointments

Wenn du noch so

überzeugt scheinst,

bleib' der Skepsis

auf der Spur -

sag nicht ja, wenn

du doch nein meinst,

Kompromisse

schaden nur ...

Ist der Abschied

nicht zu fassen,

wo man einst die

Liebe sah -

hilft kein Tun, dann

Was nichts kostet,

kann nichts wert sein,

meint der Erzka-

pitalist

doch daran muss

'was verkehrt sein,

wie ihr schließlich

alle wisst ...

Dem Verzicht auf

die Erwartung

folgt das Glück ganz

unverhofft -

kunstentartung

Jede Krankheit

soul and body

spirit's light...

Auch der Haifisch

muss mal sterben,

denn der Tod ist

ganz gewiss -

auf Gedeih und

auf Verderben

macht er bald den

letzten Biss ...

like a curse here,

death is certain-

ly in sight -

then, for better

or for worse here,

they make soon their

final bite...

Und die Lüge

zieht vom Leder,

und sie erntet

noch Applaus -

denn die Wahrheit

kennt ein jeder,

aber niemand

hält sie aus ...

And the lie starts

to traduce, and

gets applause for,

at the end -

for we all do

know the truth, and

yet - there’s no one,

it to stand…

Und man sonnt sich

in der Fülle

seiner Pose

nur zu gern -

doch der Kern ist

nicht die Hülle,

und die Hülle

Ob voll Sünde

oder Tugend,

ob alleine,

ob zu zwot -

nach der Kindheit

Alles Leben

ist gefangen

nen Gesetz:

nach dem Tod bleibt

man vergangen,

ist Geschwätz ...

Nach dem Tod ver-

liert das Streben

seinen lebens-

langen Rang

vor dem Tod kommt

noch das Leben,

doch das Vorspiel

währt nicht lang ...

lose all striving

for one’s rank, once

lifelong strong -

and before death

comes surviving,

but this foreplay

won’t last long...

Willst du ehrlich

sein, begreif' es:

Illusionen

sind naiv -

Pessimismus

hat 'was Reifes,

Optimismus

geht oft schief ...

Are you honest, then

you see there:

all illusions

are naive -

pessimism

seems mature there,

optimism

doomed to grieve…

Denn das Sein kann

man nicht haben,

nimm den Abschied

nicht zu schwer -

wird der Haifisch

nun begraben,

folgst du bald schon

hinterher ...

Und das Schicksal

weiß es besser,

denn es hat die

Übersicht -

und es liefert

dich an's Messer,

doch warum, das

sagt es nicht ...

Fate knows better

I assume yet,

for it has the

overview -

and it sends you

to your doom, yet

'why' it doesn't

say to you...

Alles strebt nur

nach Vernichtung,

alles Leben

muss vergehn -

denn die Zeit hat

eine Richtung,

und sie bleibt auch

niemals stehn ...

All is striving

for dissection,

every life must

pass away -

for the time has

one direction,

and it never

stops to stay...

Wer zu reich ist,

macht sich Sorgen,

wer zu arm ist,

der erkrankt -

beide konnten

sich nur borgen,

was der Tod zu-

rückverlangt ...

Who's too rich, is

full of sorrow,

who’s too poor, will

sicken then -

both of them could

only borrow,

that what death re-

claims again…

Wer nichts tut, gilt

als Versager,

wer zuviel tut,

lebt im Stress -

wechselt man auch

mal das Lager,

nützt das gar nichts

mehr indes ...

Doing nothing:

loser's trip then!

but too much means

stress, therefore -

are you sometimes

jumping ship then,

it’s no use now

anymore...

Denn der eine,

der ist tüchtig,

und der andre,

der ist dumm -

doch ist beides

nicht so wichtig,

denn die Zeit ist

eh bald um ...

is quite clever,

one quite dull -

but there’s neither

vital ever,

way soon null...

Denn der Tod hat

leise Sohlen,

weil man gern durch's

Leben döst -

wolltest gerade

Atem holen,

war auch dies Pro-

blem gelöst ...

Softly sneaking,

one might doze, no

take a breath, that

problem, too, was

quickly solved...

Denn die einen

sind ganz anders

und die andern

etabliert -

doch den Sinn des

Miteinanders

haben beide

nicht kapiert ...

Some look different,

kind of nether,

more established

looks the rest -

but the meaning

of together:

both of them have

failed the test…

Was bringt all das

Mordsgetue

und das Über-

angebot

denn die Kraft liegt

in der Ruhe,

und am ruhigsten

ist der Tod ...

just in peace lies

that you die...

Wo man hobelt,

fallen Späne,

und das fühlt sich

nie gut an -

und der Haifisch

wetzt die Zähne,

dass er besser

hobeln kann ...

Omelettes ever

break an egg, that

feels not good,

will never do -

sharks with whetted

teeth attack, that

let them better

break in you…

Ist das Leben

auch verderblich,

pflanzt es sich doch

ständig fort -

ach, der Tod nur

ist unsterblich,

und das war mein

letztes Wort ...!

Also baleful

is life's portal,

yet it breeds from

herd to herd -

only death, though,

is immortal,

that has been my

final word...!

Zeit-Bombe

Denn am Anfang

war das Nichts! und

erst viel später

kam das Sein! -

und dazwischen

schlug die Schöpfung

wie 'ne wahre

Bombe ein!

Erst ein Urknall,

was auch immer

dieses Wort

bedeuten mag,

dann Materie

und Bewusstsein,

von der Wiege

bis zum Sarg ...

Und der Tod liegt

auf der Lauer,

wer gejagt wird

den erwischt's -

denn das Sein ist

nicht von Dauer,

und am Ende

steht das Nichts! ...

Nothing only

later Being!

anyhow -

called creation,

as a bombshell

came it - wow!

First Big Bang, what

might that be, as

just a word, came

from-the-off in -

matter first, and

conscious me as

from the cradle

to the coffin…

And your death is

on the lookout,

you are hunted,

caught therefore -

Being is no

stable cookout,

Nothing! Be the

end, once more…
